Skagway King Salmon Derby

Each year, Taiya Inlet Watershed Council hosts the Pat Moore Memorial Game Fish Derby. Hundreds of entrants from the U.S. and Canada enter to win cash prizes and bragging rights. The 2014 Derby will be held June 26th-29th.
We’ve already gotten some great prizes donated by the area breweries: Skagway Brewing Company, Haines Brewing Company, Yukon Brewing Company, and Alaska Brewing Company as well as Baked Cafe and KalTire in Whitehorse, YT. Prizes are diverse and include categories for Skagway locals, Yukoners, summer workers, women, teams, shore fishing, children, seniors, and many more. Largest King wins $2,000!
