During the summers of 2014 and 2015, the Taiya Inlet Watershed Council has been working with the Takshanuk Watershed Council in Haines, AK to start the Northern Lynn Canal Community Weed Management Area (NLC-CWMA). A CWMA is a group of people (landowners, concerned citizens, conservation groups) who are committed to understanding the presence of invasive plant communities and will help take action to diminish or eradicate invasives in the area.
If you or your organization is interested in being a part of the NLC-CWMA, or would like updates on projects or weed pulls, please email rachel.ford@taiya.org
The development of the NLC-CWMA as well as summer invasive projects is funded through the Alaska Association of Conservation Districts.
