Data Sharing

Making data available to the wider community allows it to be used easily in other studies and analyses, increasing its value and impact. Currently, there is no single AK-wide data storage system for continuous stream temperature data. However, the Alaska Center for Conservation Science has created a system to store aquatic temperature metadata (information about data). The Alaska Online Aquatic Temperature Site (AKOATS) allows users to submit metadata and retrieve information about current and historic data collection in the state.

Additionally, the Southeast Alaska GIS (SEAK GIS) Library will house regional metadata and data. Please contact Pat Dryer (wpdryer@alaska.edu) with questions or to submit your data.

Network cooperators are strongly encouraged to submit information about their data sets to AKOATS and the SEAK GIS Library.

If you have any questions, please contact Rebecca Bellmore.
